If you are planning to travel for the summer, there is no need to assume you cannot workout on the road. I have run across a great resource to purchase bands and balls for portable workouts.
Resistance band exercise is a great option that you can follow while traveling on a hectic schedule without having to spend hours at the gym. The resistance exercise band can be combined with free weights and provides an excellent workout for the thighs, abdomen, hips, arms and chest.
Resistance exercise bands
These exercise bands appear like giant rubber bands and allow you to challenge your muscles with a range of exercises. Typically a resistance exercise band is secured around a door knob or banister. My Summer Fit
Camp clients are also learning to use them wrapped around trees and/or each other. Simply pull back till you feel the resistance. Adjust it to suit your exercises. Wrap it around your ankles and you can give your legs, butt and thighs a good workout. An exercise band, if used correctly can provide full-body strength training workout.
- Light and portable
- Easily fits into a suitcase or bag
- Offers variable resistance
- A range of exercises can be performed at varying degrees of tension
- Ensure that the exercises are done in a slow and controlled manner with the resistance exercise band for fear of it snapping and hurting you.
- Ensure good posture through the resistance band exercise routine.
- This workout must be done on a soft surface that does not damage the rubber tubing of the exercise band.
Resistance exercise bands, as the name suggests provide resistance throughout your exercise workout. Be it bicep curls or chest presses or lat pulls the exercise band must be used with control. Resistance exercise bands come in a range of options, from varying levels of thickness to those that offer more resistance. Select the one that suits your fitness levels. Some resistance exercise bands are color coded to indicate resistance levels. Accessories such as door anchors and exercise handles are also available.
Exercise bands can come in flat or rounded rubber or elastic strips. They can often be shortened to add to the resistance. It is essential that the exercise band be tied to a sturdy object. If the resistance exercise band comes loose, it can cause serious injury.
Linda, at BallsnBands.com is a small business-owner I recently met via my work on the internet that provides a great offer to purchase the bands. Additionally, you can get the ones I use in my Summer Fit Camp work and shown in many of the videos featured on this site, in TheStrengthClub Store.
