“We Fall Down…
but we get up!” So says the gospel by Donnie McClurkin from a few years back. I quoted it in response to a client’s admission of falling off her regimen of a clean diet for the past three weeks. In fact, that same day, while I didn’t consider it a “fall down,” but a conscious choice to enjoy those two pieces of sweet potatoe pie while enjoying laughter and family that afternoon. You see I had already planned to spend the following day, enjoying the fall colors upstate with my private workout and my off-road bicycle.
I had no idea where I was going, but I knew I was going to be outside in the elements. Turns out the pie was a welcome carb build up for what lied ahead. I ended up doing a 4 mile trek around a gorgeous lake where only a mountain bike or hiking boots could have helped you maintain the course.
I had my bike, camera, protein snacks and plenty of water and energy. Did about 6-7 miles total and am sharing herewith a snippet of the images taken. Every thing you see in front of you, I rode with that bike.
Came back to the Sterling Forest, NY Park Ranger to report how “serious” the “little bike trail” actually was. Please notice that the only other persons out there on the trail were fisherman!!
Great day for burning up the pie, huh!?
