Strong and Fierce

I am a little torn by this “announcement.”  Delighted that the issue is put to rest for the athlete and her family, glad that the “officials” finally got it right, yet disturbed that strong, fierce, dedicated athletic women are so disturbingly confusing for much of the world.

Pilates, Cats & Hips

Did you see a Black Cat prowling around for Halloween?  About 5′6″ tall with wonderful curves she earned on the floor doing Pilates Side Kicks?

Well, if you missed Tatiana that night, check out the pictures she sent and attributes to her work with Pilates.  For hips, legs and butt shaping you can’t beat Pilates.

Pilates: A Way of Living

I experienced two powerful Pilates workshops this summer. Two days were spent with other Pilates teachers, masters and instructors in the First Annual Power Pilates Teacher’s workshop; two days wonderfully jammed packed with eye opening, mouth watering, spine correcting details one could ask for – under $500. iTouch Blogging about Fitness

OMG! This week, Jules and I (with me leading) picked up an iPhone (for him, as I am sticking with my Treo 680 – at least for now) and an iTouch for me; from which this entry is being posted.

Very cool, very sleek and I LIKE IT!

Now, perhaps I can much more regularly blog my thoughts, ideas, and observations about the things I love and care about. Fitness, health, strength and wellness.

That “Extra Thing”

Deborah blogged me out and didn’t even say anything! And she went and got herself featured Featured Blogas a delightful suburban blogger, knitter and part-time comedian on Black Purl Magazine.

She and I both were among a group of 50 or more women that filled a Women’s Club as extra’s for Vanessa Williams and Eartha Kitt’s independent movie which was just released, “And Then Came Love.” Read the rest of this entry →

Bergen Health & Life Features ThePilatesClub.Net

Bergen Health & LifePilates, Yoga, Salsa Dance, Kickboxing and Boot Camp programs were the five featured exercise disciplines in the June 2007 issue of Bergen Health & Life. ThePilatesClub.Net and Gina Jackson, are among the experts featured in the publication.

The Hundred is a key exercise I use to instruct any client to begin stabilizing their abdominal wall. No matter what the age, size or shape or gender. The ability to stabilize the back, contract the abdominals, pump the arms and breathe at the same time can be very challenging for a beginner student.

Check out the article, the details for performing this exercise as well as the others featured. By the end of the summer, you may find yourself in a different body!
