Supplements, Aging and Obesity
This is a good read for those young males seeking to train your body to add “bulk” with the use of supplements. There
may be a few hidden “ah-ha’s” in the NYT article.
I found it in stark contrast to the Healthy Aging, With Nary a Supplement by Jane Brody a few days earlier, which was aimed at the older fitness consumer, more likely female, such as myself (and a avid supplement user of Tonalin CLA, Collagen + C and Reservatrol; none of which are mentioned/referenced in the Brody article) where conscious attention is recommended toward healthy diet and exercise and a deep bent toward natural supplementation from the nutrients derived in our food choices.

Eating Green to Stay Lean
Kick-ass workout today. Started at 830am in the gym with leg presses and I pumped up the volume to three plates. That means, ladies that I pressed 270 pounds for 20 reps about 4-5 sets. After which I worked my hamstrings, quads and adductors and abductors.
Then the best part, because of the 50 degree temperature of this sweet December, post-Christmas morning, was my 3.5 mile run outside in my Kangoo Jumps which people don’t seem to be surprised with anymore….I am just part of the woodwork and the shoes are the paint on my woodwork. Collagen + C = Unstoppable Energy
I think the Collagen I & III that I am taking (with Reservatrol) each morning for the past 4 weeks is doing not only wonders on my hair growth but my nails, skin glow and big time on my energy levels. So much so that I actually think it’s an ‘upper!’ Gesh! Read the rest of this entry →

Are You Thankful?
Time to think about what you are doing and have done for the year. Time for Thanksgiving preparations and that means the Annual Thankful Hike in the Palisades to prepare your body for the delicate balance of holiday, life, food and exercise. For the past few years, (since 2003) I have been leading outdoor excursions along the Palisades just to clear my head and have invited everyone I know to join me, just for the fun of it. “We Fall Down…
but we get up!” So says the gospel by Donnie McClurkin from a few years back. I quoted it in response to a client’s admission of falling off her regimen of a clean diet for the past three weeks. Read the rest of this entry →

Eliminate Pain in Cardio Training!
This study is pure fact. It is about those “funny shoes.” My body is my testimony to the powerful use of the tool and I stand now at the end of the summer, now 52 years young, having exclusively used this tool with so much joy and pain free training, that I cannot and will not ever return to a “traditional form” of running in shoes….ever! Technology and science, as reported below, make it impossible to go backwards. If you experience any pain in your joints and movement while running or walking, read and follow me thru the the world with Kangoo Jumps. And, I have a way for you to get a pair with a discount!! Rebounding on Kangoo Jumps
Adding to my renewed interest in skating for the pure fun of it, is the use of Kangoo Jumps for cardio/aerobic fitness. Read the rest of this entry →

Arms & Food
I remember the first time I saw those tight, strong arms on Linda Hamilton in the first Terminator movie. Way back in the day….circa 1991. They were fierce and powerful. I wanted them.
