I have been wanting to write this article ever since I received the first picture of this gorgeous infant. Michael Tyrone Morris, III was born in January 2007 and is one of the children, I affectionately call, "a Pilates baby."
His mother, Dr. Faye Morris, worked very hard
in group and private Pilates training classes to build and maintain her
core strength to bring this little bugger here!
Faye's life and schedule - prior to the baby's
delivery was one crazy whirlwind. It is amazing that she could actually
hold everything together.
Determined and resourceful, she held down her
General Practitioner caseload upstate NY six days a week, and then
would drive two hours to get home to her husband (also a physician with
equally crazy hours) and then still create time for exercise, albeit
not as often as she would like, for hikes along the Palisades, Pilates Mat Classes and ultimately, Private Reformer training.
She will probably kill me for sharing this
picture, (the hair! the hair!) but it is my favorite NEW Mom picture
as it is so natural and peaceful.
Well, now, she has returned to bringing her
body back to form and is working hard with a wild group of other young
women in the Summer Boot Camp. She is back to jumping rope, lunging,
squatting, and strength training to help regain her pre-pregnancy form and figure.
I am confident she will be back in the Pilates studio and on the mat in September!
Congratulations Faye and Michael! Your little one is a surely a joy and a charmer!
